Lexical Stress usage examples. Omographs.

Thanks professor for explaining us the principless of russian lexical stress. But what does it means in real life? Lexical stress in russian often creates omographs - 2 completely different meanings, 2 pronunciations but the same spelling. I'll provide some examples замОк [zam o k] lock зАмок [z a mok] castle парОм [par o m] ferryboat пАром [p a rom] by vapour атлАс [ atl a s ] satin Атлас [ a tlas] atlas жилА [zhil a ] lived жИла [zh i la] sinew мукА [muk a ] flour мУка [m u ka] sorrow сорОк [sor o k] magpie (plural, dativ) сОрок [ s o rok ] 40 заводИ [zavodi] wind up зАводи [zavodi] backwater
